
Celebration of Mexican Independence Day
For over 30 years, El Grito de Dolores at Los Angeles City Hall has brought thousands of people together. This year, Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez is La Madrina, and she is excited to welcome Angelenos for a a night of celebration.
At a time when Mexican and Latino communities face uncertainty, El Grito 2025: ¡Viva La Resistencia! is a call to meet the moment—to honor tradition, uplift the people who do so much for our city, and gather in joy.

Save The Date: Saturday, September 13
Join the Office Councilmember Hernandez at the steps of City Hall for the annual Civic Ceremony to witness the reenactment of "El Grito de Dolores,” the bell-ringing call to action by Father Miguel Hidalgo that sparked Mexico’s fight for independence 215 years ago.

Parking: Free public parking is available at two nearby lots:
- The Music Center (135 N. Grand Avenue)
- Walt Disney Concert Hall (663 W 2nd St)
