Eunisses Hernandez Statement on ICE in Los Angeles

THE LATEST

Last updated at 5:50 PM, 6/8/25

Councilmember Euinisses Hernandez today issued the following statement:

"The federal government is trying to make an example out of anyone who would dare stand up to the injustice happening in this country. Families are being ripped apart. Protestors are being injured and arrested for exercising their First Amendment right. And the National Guard has been deployed to Los Angeles.

I urge Angelenos to make an emergency plan, know their rights, and exercise caution in the coming hours and days. If you choose to exercise your right to free speech and protest, I ask you to do so peacefully and with intention, to keep you and our community safe.

We will not turn our backs on those who built and continue to sustain the city we all call home."
